IMANI GREETER MINISTRY

December 1, 2008 by Phyllis Grayson   Comments (1)

Hello Greeters of Imani,

Blogging will be a great way for us to communicate with each other in regards to this ministry. Examples, absences, concerns or issues regarding the greeter ministry, switches in regards to absences, etc. We can also send an encouraging word to a fellow greeter when they are sick, traveling or just need to be encouraged in the Lord on any particular day.

I will be sending you all a link to join my friends list.

"Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" - Eph. 6:10

Sister Grayson,

I what do you think about this?

 Making Newcomers Feel Welcome

Have you ever walked into a new church and felt completely invisible?

That's how my wife and I felt a few years ago when we attended a large church in a new city. Upon arriving we were politely handed a bulletin, but no one seemed interested in talking to us. People in the church were friendly with each other, but it felt like we couldn't break into their group. We probably could have done more to get involved, but after we stopped going I wasn't surprised to hear that the church's numbers had been declining for years.

This week's best-selling resource, A Welcoming Church, is designed to help you ensure that this doesn't happen in your congregation. When people step through the doors of your church, do everything possible to embrace them and make them feel welcome.

For the Kingdom,
